Blue Water and Great Music June 25 2005

Hi Everyone. How are you all. Things are great here in Thunderbay Ontario. The Thundering Women's Festival is awesome. Great music and lots of hot weather. Wow it's hot here. It's the second year for this Festival so it's having a great start. Thanks to everyone for there hard work. It was great to play and I wish we could have played longer.

Well, I am going to rest this afternoon and then head back out later tonight to catch Lee Arron and here band. Should be a blast. See you all soon.

Alive in Thunder Bay- June 23

I am looking at Drf (Dustin) though half open doors. We have both been asleep in our private dorm rooms at Lakehead University since 5pm and it is now 9 pm Ontario time. Daisy and Kim are out at BPs watching game 7. It's the big one tonight.
We don't play the Thundering Women Festival until tomorrow so we are reliving our scholarly past as we hear the echoes or our walls and stick to the bleach in our sheets. The flight was luxury. West Jet is really going to the next level with the whole everyone is first class leather seats and televisions and leg room. Wow. Schnazzy.
Now I have dry toungue and my hair is super curly from the humidity. Confusing times for a prairie girl. Next is string up my guitars. Then find water. Then who knows. I am feeling rather perky since the sleep.

Computers and Music June 15 2005

Hi everyone. What's up. A few things to tell you all. First off, I miss everyone. I am excited about the Ottawa Folk Festival. "Wow" we are going to rock it. How are you all. Well I am also in the Rockergirl camp beginning of July teaching girls and women all about drums. Or at least what I know about drums. Should be loads of fun. I will bring my own kit as well for some samples of my drumming and learn about drum kits and how to look after them. Sounds like fun. Come out to Rockergirlcamp. Other than this, I am hooked on putting music onto my computer. So much music, so little time. Well I should get back to my video game on the Xbox. See you all soon.

Busy With My Boa

Things are so busy these days, I apologize for not writing in the journal for such a long time. I've been recording "The Tiki Room" for A DRIVE - THRU RECORD: Pt.2. The gist is that one gets 4 hours to record a full song. The beauty of it was that my friend Jamie Philp (my sound-scape brother) who plays the lap steel, hawaiian ukelele, and slack-key guitars in every tuning played with me. We both like Polynesian styles so it was just perfect. Wendy McNeil sang on the song and nailed the part in one take. She is another musician I have a great connection with. Greg and Greg of the Rhythm Section were fab. The CD Release Party is this weekend. Also, I was informed of my need of a fancy dress as the Mayor (god-bless his beaver pelt and sense of humor) and PACE have selected me a nominee for an "Emerging Artist" award. I've never really "emerged" before. What IS coming to head is the need for an outfit for the awards gala. I've got a red feather boa and that's it. Maybe some black pumps but it's a family show so...
